has been a licensed attorney in Pennsylvania for more than 35 years. She is also recognized as a Workers' Compensation Law Certified Specialist in Pennsylvania. She received her law degree at Dickinson School of Law in 1980. She attended college at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, receiving both Bachelor's and Master's degrees in 1977. After law school, she was a law clerk for a Pennsylvania appellate court Judge at Commonwealth Court for more than five years. She has also served as a Hearing Examiner for the Department of Education and a labor attorney at Letterkenny Army Depot. Attorney Shoap has been in private practice in Chambersburg since 1994. Her practice is limited exclusively to representing injured workers' compensation clients and disabled individuals who have filed claims for Social Security Disability and/or SSI. She also has an appellate practice at United States District Court, representing Social Security Disability clients on appeal. She has served as a council member on the Pennsylvania Workers' Compensation Law Section of the Pennsylvania Bar Association and is a member of the National Organization of Social Security Claimants' Representatives, as well as the Pennsylvania Association for Justice. She has served on the Boards for Mid-Penn Legal Services and the Cumberland Valley School of Music, as well as serving on the scholarship review committee for Kids' Chance, a non-profit organization which awards college scholarships to the children of injured workers in Pennsylvania.
